with our workshop we see the medieval world Through the eyes of an English longbowman, our presentation looks at housing, farming, entertainment and the day to day living in medieval times.
We also cross over into France to explore the hundred years war and follow the effects of the Black Death in Europe.
The longbowman arrives with a full array of weapons, equipment and artifacts to demonstrate and for students to handle.
He demonstrates medieval surgery with the extraction of an arrowhead (recreating the operation carried out on the young Henry V after the battle of Shrewsbury).
During the workshop, our knight arrives with a full harness of historically accurate plate armour, an absolutely incredible and iconic (and noisy!) sight. With him, he brings a huge collection of medieval arms and armour, all of which your students can safely handle and hold.
Our knight then begins to tell the tale of the Start of the wars of the roses and the death of Richard III at the battle of Bosworth filed and how the Tudors came to power.
We also study and hold a wide range of medical, clothing, and kitchen artefacts in order to discover what day-to-day life in the Medieval period was really like.
To finish the day, if time and space permits, we can give an astounding demonstration of the power and accuracy of the medieval longbow.
